Synergy

High performance teams, whether a sports team or a marketing team, always have synergy: multiple individuals working together to become greater than the sum of their parts. 

Before the Israelites were ready to enter the Promised Land, they had to become more than just ex-slaves fleeing from Egypt, fighting for survival. They had to learn to live, work, and even fight together. Instead of individuals and their families only looking out for themselves, they had to become a community who together could accomplish more than they ever could on their own. 

To become the people God has created us to be, we need more than strict individualism. There’s something greater God does in and through us when we commit ourselves to the collaborative, synergistic, community, empowered by God, that we call “the church.”
