A New Soul

Today, right now, there is an all out assault on our souls. The level of carnage in the sheer number of lives being slowly crushed by discouragement, apathy, addiction, stress, anxiety, and depression is staggering. And yet, most people are blissfully ignorant of the threat because it’s felt as an absence: a lack of meaning, purpose, and significance, too anesthetized by endless entertainment and consumption to even notice what we’ve lost.

In Psalm 57, David–who knew a thing about imminent danger–invites us to discover the confidence and hope that comes from knowing we have a purpose greater than ourselves and that God is with us. It’s enough to wake up your soul.
